横須賀中央駅から平坂を上がったところに位置する上町（うわまち）銀座商店街。
うわまち病院、文化会館、図書館、看板建築など歴史と文化に囲まれた匠とこだわりの60ものお店が皆様をお待ちしています。
Uwamachi Ginza Shopping District is located up the Hirasaka slope from Yokosuka Chuo Station.
Surrounded by history and culture, including Uwamachi Hospital, a cultural hall, a library, and a signboard building, as many as 60 stores with a focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail await you.

うわまち銀座商店街の歴史
History
上町銀座商店会は1947年（昭和22年）に結成されました。
明治初期のころから自然発生的に発足した商店会で、100年以上の歴史をもった商店もあります。とても古くからある歴史のある街です。上町地域には5つの商店会（上町銀座商店会・上町三栄会・上町商盛会（振）・中里通り商店会・池之端商和会）があります。このため、お客様は三崎～金沢区・逗子・葉山まで幅広い客層をもっています。海軍士官が多く住んでいた地区であり、昔は横須賀で牛肉が一番売れていた地域でした。
The Uemachi Ginza Shopping Association was formed in 1947.
The shopping association was spontaneously established in the early Meiji period, and some of the stores have a history of more than 100 years. It is a town with a very long history. There are five shopping associations in the Uemachi area (Uemachi Ginza Shopping Association, Uemachi Sansei Association, Uemachi Shosei Association (Furukawa), Nakasato Street Shopping Association, and Ikenohata Shouwakai). As a result, customers range from Misaki to Kanazawa-ku, Zushi, and Hayama. Many naval officers used to live in this area, and beef used to be the biggest seller in Yokosuka.
